PSERS Announces Court Approval of $335 million Settlement of Bank of America Securities Class Action

The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) today announced that a settlement in the amount of $335,000,000.00 in cash in an investor class action against Bank of America was approved on December 27, 2016, by the Honorable Judge William H. Pauley, III, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

2016 Summary Annual Financial Report (SAFR)

The first edition of PSERS’ Summary Annual Financial Report (SAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 has been posted. This report summarizes financial data and FY 2016 accomplishments that are provided in greater detail in PSERS’ Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

PSERS Investment Team Receives Innovation Award

On December 12th, Chief Investment Officer Magazine awarded PSERS with the 2016 Industry Innovation Award for Public Defined Benefit Plans, $15 Billion to $100 Billion.

This investment industry award recognizes innovation in institutional investing.  PSERS was one of seven public plans nominated for this award.  The other funds nominated for the award included: Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association, Employees Retirement System of Texas, Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System, Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, and Public Employees’ Retirement System of Nevada.

2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)

PSERS’ Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 has been posted.  PSERS is pleased to present this detailed financial report to its members, employers, and stakeholders. PSERS’ staff continues to achieve the highest standard of financial reporting, as PSERS is once again among the first public pension plans in the country to release its June 30, 2016 CAFR.
