Investment Program

The Public School Employees' Retirement System has matured from a pension plan that was about 50% funded in 1982 to one that is 86.0% funded as of the latest actuarial valuation dated June 30, 2008.

PSERS' assets have grown from $6 billion in 1982 to approximately $45.4 billion as of December 31, 2008.

As of September 30, 2008, PSERS ranks as the 12th largest state-sponsored defined benefit pension fund in the country according to Pensions & Investments.
